There are two quotes that are often used for motor racing. 1/ To finish first, first you have to finish. 2/ Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go? They both make sense. There was an instance of the first over the weekend here in Australia. There is a motor race that’s been running on the current track for 63 years. The Bathurst 1000 is called The Great Race here. I’ve been a fan for almost as long. This year the car that should have won ran out of fuel on the last lap. He was nursing it home, saving fuel, with a comfortable lead. Then the safety car came out with three laps to go and bunched up the field. He had to race hard to stay in front, and that used the fuel he’d been saving. He didn’t finish. You can watch the highlights if you wish, link in the PS. Now all of these teams have spent a lot of money to be here and these cars are already very fast. The average speed is roughly 165 km/h which is a bit over 100 mph. So, how is this like life? No matter how well you prepare, things still happen to cause you problems. It’s not what happens that’s the real problem, it’s how you deal with it that counts. No one cares that you had a problem, they only care about what you did about it. In business the same behaviour is important, with one significant difference. In business you can turn your solution into something that helps others. This is because other people will have the same or similar problem and will want a solution. And that’s the reason the Have A Go product exists. It’s a solution to the problem of thinking you’re doing everything right and still not making sales. It will help you find where the sales are being blocked, and help you overcome that blockage. No cost, just have a go. Regards, P.S. Here’s the link to the Bathurst 1000 highlights for the 2026 race. |
