Say what you want, not what you don’t want. It’s fascinating, to me, that people regularly sabotage themselves with their speech. “I need to lose 20 kilos.” “I can’t afford that.” “I’m hopeless with money.” Every one of those is about what you don’t want. There’s a line usually credited to Henry Ford, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — you’re right.” But it’s not just being positive. It’s also believing the result you want will actually happen. I’ve told you this before, but it bears repeating. When my first wife decided that I was an impediment to her mental health and asked me to leave, I was depressed for a while. Then I wrote down what I wanted in a wife. I was pretty specific. I wasn’t unrealistic. I focussed more on what type of person she would be. Then I let it go and got on with my life. Within 6 months she appeared in my life, and we’ve been together for 25 happy years. That’s goal setting 101. Focus. Write it down. Be specific. Let the universe sort things out for you. Some people will tell you that you need a date for completion. I didn’t set one in this case. For something like this, being specific mattered more. I read somewhere that you have to let go of the things you don’t want to make room for the things you do. Let go of the idea that you can’t reach your goals. Make room for the goals. For some goals you do need to be actively working on them. No one is going to start paying you $10k monthly just because. That’s where most people fall down. They set the result as the goal, then wait for it to happen. The result isn’t the goal. The action is. If being consistent is a problem, this will help you fix that. It’s one short lesson on how to say what you want, turn it into one action you take every day, and keep taking. Start here https://go.wm-tips.com/goals Regards, |
