Fortunately, there is a tiny line at the bottom of their AI snippet that reads “AI responses may include mistakes.” No shit Sherlock! This is all part of Google’s attempt to shut down other people making money from their content. Google doesn’t make those search results, they’ve collected them from across the public Internet, sorted, collated, and massaged the results they show you. The results you see are different to the results I see and possibly different to what your neighbour sees. Google plays favourites. Most of the search results you see come from a very small group of companies, 16 actually. https://detailed.com/google-control/. That’s why so many marketers have given up on SEO and buy the traffic they want, but that is also filled with dodgy people. It’s currently easier to make headway on alternative search engines. Ones like YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc. Most marketers don’t see these as an alternative to search engines, but their users do. They’ll also sell you ads which will get in front of users and are generally much cheaper than Google ads. Personally, I don’t search with Google much anymore. I use an AI tool, YouTube, or Reddit for my results. What do you do? Regards, |
