I saw a wasp on the bike track with a spider it was dragging. I’ve known about this behaviour since I was a teenager, but Monday was the first time I saw one in action. It doesn’t happen to humans, but it would make a great horror story, a bit like Alien. This is not unique to Australia. It was a spider wasp. What these guys do is fight a spider, and sting it to paralyse it. The spider doesn’t die, yet. The wasp drags the spider to a burrow, or some other relatively safe spot, then lays one egg on the spider. The lava hatches and eats the spider, leaving vital organs for last so the meat stays fresh. This is a gruesome death for the spider, but it’s giving life to a wasp. No one knows how either of these creatures feel about this. But consider this. The wasp does this because it only knows one way to perpetuate its species. It doesn’t hate spiders. It knows the rules of survival. The wasp has one method. It doesn’t go looking for a better one. It doesn’t buy a course on new ways to catch spiders. It just does the thing that works, every time. Rule one in Tony Shepherd’s Profit Wormhole is basically that. Stop looking for new methods. Pick one that works and stick with it. That’s one of eight. https://link.ckv.to/profit-wormhole Regards, |
