In a previous lifetime, about 40 years ago, I wanted to start a new business. Wife #1 refused point-blank to agree to the bank loan required to set it up. “You can’t sell water to people!” she said. I wonder what she thinks now that bottled water is more expensive than petrol. The idea came from something a geologist told me. I was in a her office in Naracoorte looking maps of the underground water flow. My house was directly above that flow. She told me that the water in that flow had been moving through the rock for over 2,000 years by the time it got to my place. Imagine this ad. “The purest water you can buy. Rock filtered for over 2,000 years.” I already had a bore and a pump. I was showering in that water. I drank it every day. All I needed was a way to bottle it, box it up, and market it. It never got started. The bottleneck was the finance. Perhaps I should have found a way around that blockage. I never looked hard enough. Regards, P.S. Is there a bottleneck stopping your idea turning into profit? Mine was finance, and I never went looking for a way around it. This helps you find yours, and then do something about it every day. |
