I had a minor surgery on Saturday. I walked into the operating theatre, climbed onto the table. The nurse said, “I’ll just put this oxygen mask on.” I’m not sure it was ever on before I was out to it. I didn’t even notice the anaesthetic starting. Sneaky bugger. I woke up being wheeled out of the theatre. Everything went well and I’m fine, thanks for asking. It made me think about how we do things. Not just in hospitals, or business, but about life in general. When things go smoothly it’s usually because it’s a habit built from repetition. We always do things badly. At first. Then, as we repeat the learning, it becomes smoother and automatic. That’s when you’ve built a habit. No one ever does a new thing smoothly at first. So why is it that people starting online expect immediate perfection? Not going to happen. Repetition is key. Everything is built one step at a time. But those steps get easier and faster as you repeat them. Many people starting out don’t publish, write emails, make videos etc. because they think that what they produce isn’t good enough. And they’re probably right, but unless they ship, they’ve wasted their time. You won’t get subscribers or buyers when the content is still on your hard drive. Ship it, correct it later, if at all. Perfect never ships. Good enough already has. Regards, P.S. One thing I was consistently wrong with for many years was choosing keywords for the content. In the end I gave up on getting stuff ranked with SEO and keywords. But I’m diving back into that world because of this tool, https://link.ckv.to/traffic-x-ray With this you’ll find the only keywords you actually need to create your content around. |
