I think I’m now immune to fake FOMO.
So many of the emails in my inbox include some variation on “Only one hour before it closes” or “Last chance to get …”
I don’t open them anymore.
Mostly because I’ve already checked out the product and decided against buying it.
If I open the email, it’s because I want to buy it but decided to wait, but usually, if I wanted to buy it, I would have already done so.
The funny thing is that if you go to some of those “last chance” sales pages after the end date, you can still buy them at the original price even though the countdown timer is now at zero.
Not all of them, to be sure, but enough of them that the FOMO thing no longer works.
I will not use fake scarcity on you.
Nor will I remove a product from sale unless it doesn’t sell, in which case there is no point leaving it online.
Yep, that’s correct.
Some products don’t sell.
I had one years ago that made one sale.
I refunded the buyer, which surprised them, and removed the product from sale.
AI has made that product redundant, so it will probably never return.
There is one marketer who uses FOMO brilliantly.
He offers one of his products for sale for a few days and then takes it off the market.
In six months to a year, he’ll offer the same product again for a few days and then remove it again.
People on his email list are now trained to buy when the product is available, if they want it, because they know that they might have to wait a long time to get another chance to buy.
He is the only marketer who works this way as far as I know.
His name is Tony Shepherd, and you can get an insider’s view into his business and how he runs it here: https://go.wm-tips.com/asal.
When you join his insiders club, he will show you everything, but he also explains each step in each product he creates because each product reveals a little more about how he does things.
No other marketer will let you inside their business like Tony does.
Regards, Brent.
P.S. Quick distinction worth making: most “deadline timers” reset the second you close the tab or clear your cookies, which is exactly the fake FOMO I just ripped on above.
The Evergreen Timer doesn’t do that.
Each visitor gets a real, individual deadline that doesn’t reset, the same honest mechanic Tony uses, just automated for your page.

I mean it.
You’re overthinking almost everything.
I know, because we all do and it has to stop.
Nothing is hard unless you think it is.
It’s the thinking that makes it hard.
Way harder than it needs to be.
90% of what you know you need to do to make money online is basic stuff.
You know how to do it.
You know what to do.
You put it off because “it’s hard”.
No it’s not.
It might take some time, but it’s not hard.
It doesn’t have to be perfect.
It has to be done.
Poorly done is better than not done.
The more you do things the better you get so start with poor.
In the book “Lessons from the Art of Juggling” one of the first instructions is to let the balls fall on the floor.
Not try to catch them.
You learn to accept failure to catch as acceptable.
It’s the same in any endeavour.
Learning to accept that failure is only a learning experience.
You can do better next time.
Next time is tomorrow.
Particularly if your only thinking is how to do better next time.
That’s basically what this is, a free video series that walks you through setting up an affiliate funnel to your first $1k.
It won’t be perfect on your first try.
Do it anyway.
Regards, Brent.

And yet they are always targeting newbies.
What is the point of telling you that your email nurture sequence should be about how you went from broke to making money, when you haven’t made any yet?
You can’t honestly talk about your success if there isn’t any.
So how do you get those first sales?
How do you go from duck eggs to something worth talking about?
It’s probably not with a product you made.
It’s much more likely to be as an affiliate.
But even there, the information is often less than helpful.
What even is an autoresponder?
How do I make a bridge page?
What do I say to get people to click the link?
How do I create an email sequence?
What product can I sell?
In 2021 I purchase a product that answers all these questions.
I have the rights to offer that to you as well.
You can learn more here https://go.wm-tips.com/1st1k.

I’ve really had an account at IFTTT for 7 years?
I hardly use it now.
There are around 2 zaps that still run that were set up initially.
When I first signed up it was fairly sparse compared with today, but it doesn’t do the sophisticated things I can do with Make or n8n.
As an example, the Kaizen Coach is n8n workflow that interacts with the user.
I have two of these running for testing purposes and I’ve fixed a couple of bugs that showed up, but we’re on day 23 and still going well.
I have noticed changes because of that daily email prompt.
You can test it here:

Several new products.
But I haven’t told you about all of them.
There’s an issue rearing it’s ugly head in the EU.
Apparently us nasty, evil, marketers have been scamming the little people harder than the Eu bureaucrats do.
And they don’t like the competition.
So, a new law.
Right up there with the dumbest they’ve ever managed.
Every product sold in the EU must have a 14-day return policy.
Not only that but if it’s a physical product, the vendor is responsible for the return cost.
Outside the EU people are beginning to think that the best answer is to not sell to the EU at all.
I think that’s short-sighted because I think this is so dumb that all countries with Left leaning governments will follow suit and implement their own version of this stinking pile of…
The digital marketing industry already suffers from millions of dollars of fraud now.
This will only acerbate the problem.
There are solutions, unfortunately they are expensive often starting at around $300 monthly.
So, I decided to do something about it and I’m 3/4 of the way through building something to solve the problem.
It’s a simple solution.
Get a refund, get your access revoked.
Then those attempting to defraud you end up with nothing except their money back.
Let me know if this sound like something you could use.
Current working pricing is around $49 monthly.
Regards, Brent.
Every marketer needs a file of the emails that got you to open, the VSLs that got you to watch them, the sales pages that got you to buy, and anything else that got you to click a link or subscribe for something.

Because if those things got you to take action, perhaps you can use some of the ideas in your marketing.
When you’re looking for an angle, or a high-impact headline, searching your swipe file will trigger something.
For most of those copying them to your swipe file is easy.
Copy paste done.
The videos are not that easy.
Mostly you can’t just download them.
What I’ve been doing for years is using Camtasia, CapCut, or Loom to record the screen as the video plays.
This works and some videos you can speed up to record and slow down to export, but you can’t use your computer while the recording is being done.
I got tired of this so I asked Claude for some help and between us we made a tool that downloads videos in the background.
It doesn’t work with all videos, but it certainly does with many of them.
I haven’t tried it with a webinar yet, so I can’t report on that, but it should work with a webinar replay if not the original stream.
There’s still a little testing to be done, but if something like this might be useful for you, reply to this email and ask for the PDF.
I plan to put this on Gumroad, that might happen tomorrow.
