Perhaps not all, but a surprising number do have this in common.
Most of them had some success with their first or second attempt .
That gave them the confidence required to keep going even when subsequent attempts failed.
I don’t think I have ever read or heard of a marketer, who is successful today, who didn’t have some success very early in their career.
I know there are a few, because I’ve talked with them, but they are in the minority .
The success may not have been huge, but it was encouraging and gave them a level of belief.
It’s that level of belief that’s important here because constant failure tends to dampen anyone’s belief.
Some never recover from their first failure, some continue to push, but as their belief levels drop the chances of success also drop.
It’s one of the immutable laws of the universe.
Or perhaps the immutable laws of your subconscious.
Whatever you think about the most is what you’ll get more of.
You know what that means.
If you want to change what you’re getting, you must change what you’re focusing on and what you think about all day.
You can have better relationships.
You can have better health.
You can have better finances.
Etc.
Of course there are physical and practical limitations that you cannot change, but the biggest limitation is what you think and what you say .
Those you can change, and you must if you want to live in a better world.

They say that the only way to keep something a secret is to not tell anyone else.
As soon as it’s shared, it’s no longer a secret.
But, I have to tell someone who won’t tell my riding buddy.
You see, I’ve ordered a new bicycle.
I want to surprise him by turning up on it and that might happen on Friday.
It’s nearly the same colour as the bike I currently ride, so there’s no need to buy a new shirt to match the bike.
Its the End of Financial Year sale so the pricing was about $400 less than new price.
The current ride has done 12,000+ km since I’ve had it, and I have no idea how much work it did beforehand, but it did need a number of things fixed immediately.
Anyway, the promise to myself was that George would be replaced after getting to 10k km.
Second hand was the idea, but a good second hand bike would cost around the $1k mark and would probably need some work.
The new bike is just over that.
The model is Ventura, so this bike’s name will be Ace.
OK, now you know the secret I’m holding back, don’t tell Steve.

P.S. For those of you who bother to read this far here’s another secret.
At the bottom of this page there is a link to the book I’ve just completed about how to write apps with AI.
https://rbc.livecodehosting.com/blog .
That link will not be live for long , perhaps gone by the end of the weekend if not sooner.

This is Google’s AI on their search page getting itself totally confused.
Fortunately, there is a tiny line at the bottom of their AI snippet that reads “AI responses may include mistakes.”
No shit Sherlock!
This is all part of Google’s attempt to shut down other people making money from their content.
Google doesn’t make those search results , they’ve collected them from across the public Internet, sorted, collated, and massaged the results they show you.
The results you see are different to the results I see and possibly different to what your neighbour sees.
Google plays favourites.
Most of the search results you see come from a very small group of companies, 16 actually.
https://detailed.com/google-control/ .
That’s why so many marketers have given up on SEO and buy the traffic they want, but that is also filled with dodgy people.
It’s currently easier to make headway on alternative search engines.
Ones like YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.
Most marketers don’t see these as an alternative to search engines, but their users do.
They’ll also sell you ads which will get in front of users and are generally much cheaper than Google ads.
Personally, I don’t search with Google much anymore.
I use an AI tool, YouTube, or Reddit for my results.
What do you do?
Regards, Brent.

Manus.ai, https://go.wm-tips.com/manusfree , makes mistakes.
So do all the AI tools, which is why people who slap AI generated content online by copy paste will get Google Slammed.
Google doesn’t mind you using AI, after all, they do.
But they have always been focused on the user experience .
If the content is crappy, they will reject it faster than John West.
The mistakes I found were in the HTML edition of the book it wrote, and it had to do with the code.
It has always been an issue that books about writing code didn’t always have examples that worked.
It’s a challenge because the author can’t control the user’s computer or their setup.
Except, we did in this book.
We settled on a working environment and gave instructions on how to set it up.
The code should have worked in that environment.
It did from the PDF, but not the HTML.
It turned out that the error was in the way Manus translated the markdown documents to HTML, or perhaps the way the web browser interpreted it.
Regardless, it needed fixing.
After a day of editing everything is working correctly.
Let that be a lesson to me.
Always check the output from an AI tool.

Some of my favourite WordPress plugins are no longer maintained by the original developer.
͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏
Some of my favourite WordPress plugins are no longer maintained by the original developer.
This means that they are becoming a security risk because changes in WordPress and the upgrading of PHP versions leave them with security holes.
Looking at the stats on my websites shows me that all of them are under constant attack by hackers.
The only defences are to update everything as soon as updates become available.
The other defence is to use a good defensive plugin .
I use WordFence, you can use whatever you like.
However, that won’t stop the hackers getting inside your site if your plugins are vulnerable.
There is a fix, and it’s simple.
Disable the plugin, but don’t delete it.
Download all the files in the plugin folder.
Upload all the files to your favourite AI tool and ask it to examine the code and suggest fixes to bring it ip to date with the current version of WordPress and PHP.
Once it has identified what needs to be fixed, ask it to rewrite the code to fix the flaws.
Upload the repaired files to your WordPress plugin and reactivate it.
There you go.
An updated version of your favourite plugin that’s now secure.
WordPress might still complain about it being out of date, so all you need to do is edit the main file and rename the plugin.
This is for personal use, not for sale because you don’t own the copyright to that plugin, but you can get in touch with the developer and thrash out a deal.
Alternatively, you can ask that AI tool to create a plugin with the same functionality plus some improvements that you can call your own.
I’ve found this tool, Manus.ai, https://go.wm-tips.com/manusfree , to be great at analysing and rewriting code.
They are currently offering 500 free credits to try them out.
Worth a try wouldn’t you think?
Regards, Brent.
Or is that still?

Or is that still?
Anyway, this time it was Manus.ai, https://go.wm-tips.com/manusfree , who are offering 500 free credits to try them out.
So I did.
I asked Manus to write a book on programming with AI for beginners.
It’s done such a good job that I’ll be putting this on Amazon .
It did amuse me to ask an AI tool to write a book about programming with AI.
But, as they say, the simplest approach is usually the best.
Anyway, using AI for simple programs is a snap, using it for more complex programs can be done, but you need to have some programming background or knowledge for that.
Except, you can gain that quickly by asking the AI tools to explain the code.
So, we’ve talked about using AI for coding.
We’ve talked about using AI for image creation.
We’ve talked about using AI for writing.
All of these require human input to make the output good, not brilliant, but good enough to sell.
Have you thought about how you could use AI to research a subject, then summarise that subject, analyse the summary to find holes you can exploit, then use AI to write a report to sell?
Maybe this will give you some idea of the power of short reports.

WTF?
Yes, free traffic is expensive because it often wastes a lot of valuable time for little or no return.
But, not all free traffic is expensive.
Some is valuable.
It’s a bit like the businessman who said, “Half my advertising dollar is wasted, I just don’t know which half.”
At least half your efforts to get free traffic is wasted, but you can find out which half with good tracking.
Tracking tools can be expensive, so, if you’re just starting with tracking, here are some free tools to use for tracking.
Honestly, you should track every link no matter where you put them.
Each link can be unique when you set them up carefully.
90% of your visitors will only see one link one time.
If you have a WordPress site, you can use the Pretty Links plugin.
It is basic , but does give you some insight into what’s happening.
The other link you can use is https://go.wm-tips.com/llhome , the tracking in this tool is more sophisticated.
Both of these are free and can give you some decent oversight to what’s happening with your links.
Remember that even links in PDFs can be tracked and the target page changed if needed.

Yep, I’ve scored several more in my inbox today.
No, you really don’t want to see them.
Subject lines that suggest you’ve won a prize, qualified for a PayPal payout, or already made a sale are rife.
They are also BS , sometimes phishing, but mostly an attempt to get you to buy some super, wizbang software.
It’s the old, mostly overused, and inaccurate FOMO technique at play.
You know that your subject line, sales page headline, or product name needs to stop people scrolling and get them to take notice.
It’s the same reason that the doom goblin’s supporters are reporting that she’s been ‘arrested’ by the IDF.
It’s not true, but those headlines stop people long enough to get the propaganda message out.
You don’t need to use that type of click-baity headlines or subject lines.
So here’s a way to get some to choose from.
Give your favourite AI tool your product or a concise product description and ask for 20 subject lines (or headlines) that will stop people scrolling long enough to read your message.
If you don’t like those, ask for them to be toned down or hyped up.
Ask for 20 more.
All AI tools will create as many as you want until you get one you like, and they’ll do it in seconds.
You can combine two or more to get what you want so flexibility is baked in.
Use this method for the short reports you’ll create with this info,

Body: Hey there, Brent Milne!
Hope you’re strumming a sweet melody on this fine day. I wanted to sprinkle a bit of pixie dust on our recent conversation about venturing together into the enchanting world of software development services. Just like Peter Pan believes in the magic of never growing old, we believe in the magic of innovation and are fully committed to supporting this project’s flight. Let’s keep our thoughts high above the clouds and work together to make this more than just fairy tales. Looking forward to creating something that’ll have us flying without wings.

That’s harsh, but true.
The question is why?
Most people trying to make money online do most of the things required.
They become affiliates for good products.
They build an email list, sometimes.
They build a Facebook page, or an alternative.
They’re active in communities.
They often have been around long enough to know what to do , and they do it.
But, they often stop doing the activities and bounce from one thing to another.
Most of these people are not stupid or lazy, but they get frustrated when they don’t get any results fast enough.
And that’s the bulk of the problem right there.
When you read the back stories of successful online marketers you’ll find that they often had some small win very early in their efforts.
Why is this different?
They got some proof relatively fast.
Even if it was only a few dollars it was validation that they could make money online.
My first income online was a cheque for $1.25.
The bank wanted $6 to convert it to Australian dollars so it wasn’t much good, but it was still validation that there was money to be had online.
The difference is in the belief that you can make money this way.
And that’s the real difference between those who make money and those who don’t.
Not everything you do will make money.
When the first 3 – 5 things you do don’t make anything the belief flips from yes to no, and the universe delivers what you believe.
What you need is a simple way to flip that back to yes .
With everything else you know, this is the simplest, and fastest, way I know about how to flip that switch.
