Everybody has ideas all day every day. Most of those ideas ares still-born because most people poo-poo their own ideas almost instantly. When you don’t automatically discount what you think up, and write them down or record them another way, you won’t forget them instantly. You may not know how to turn that new idea into a product, an email, a post somewhere, yet, but give it some gestational time and you will. That’s not always true, some ideas will always be discounted, some should be, but others only work when you combine one with another. Remember my recent email about asking stupid questions? That email shows you how to maximise the benefit of your ideas by asking the right type of question. Sometimes, even with the right type of question, the time isn’t right for that idea. Stick it on the back-burner and let it simmer. Never discount an idea because someone else has already done it. They are not you, and you will create something unique because of who you are. After all, how many different modes of transport are there? It’s the same idea. Get one or more people from one place to another faster than walking. But each different company has a different take on how best to do that. In 12 months there will be even more modes of transport available. No one is giving up because there are already more than enough available now. The key is to store your ideas, then ask better questions until you create something unique. Regards, |
