It started with a panicked phone call. “The car just stopped”. “I’m stuck on the expressway, and traffic is rushing past”. As good parents, we rushed to his aid. Our youngest had his 2-year-old screaming in the car. He was panicked and she was picking up the vibe. At this part of the expressway the speed limit is 80kph, and they all stick to that… sure they do. It’s two lanes of off ramp and he was stuck partially blocking one lane because there wasn’t enough room to get further off the road. We pulled up behind him with the hazards flashing, but some drivers are morons and barely slow down or change lanes fully. Some drivers, who were trying to change lanes, were blocked by morons. Some seem to think that slowing down to allow someone to change lanes would impact their arrival time and delay their first beer by too many seconds. The roadside assist arrived rapidly because of the dangerous position we were in. The police arrived because one car had seen us and called for assistance. The problem? The alternator had died and the battery had run out of grunt. We replaced the battery. Then checked on alternator prices. OMG. The cheapest was $900… . . Fortunately, my search skills are good. I found one for around 1/3 of the price. Everything will be fixed and working properly by the weekend. Saga solved. Some drivers are still morons. Regards, P.S. Sometimes you just have to do what needs to be done and pay the asked price. That was the battery. Other times you have the luxury of shopping around. That was the alternator. This tool is only available from one source, so there’s no shopping around for this. All you have to do is what needs to be done. Click. Then use it to get your income moving. |
