Following along from a discussion in a Skool group about how much editing makes an AI article an original article. Medium does not like people to post AI articles without at a minimum tagging them with something for the reader. The first article I posted there was 100% AI and got flagged so I tagged it as requested. The second article was also 100% AI, no editing, but I felt it was a good and well written article. Medium didn’t flag that one. OK, now what? I’ve told you before about how my niece asked ChatGPT to write a three book series for her. She didn’t like the result and did some editing, but was still not happy with them so she published them under a nom-de-plume. They made $5k in their first month, which annoyed her even more. The take-away from that is that even with editing, but not a full rewrite, she couldn’t get them to her usual standard. She makes a living from her books on Kindle so she knows what she’s doing. Without editing them they may not have sold as well or at all. Were they still AI books or not? My take is that they were AI assisted books, but not AI books. Was my Medium article and AI article, yes, definitely. Is AI good at writing? That depends on your inputs, prompts, and which AI tool you’re using. However, most AI output content can be fed through Grammarly, https://go.wm-tips.com/grammarly to check for errors and plagiarism. Yes, there are often grammatical errors in AI output. You’ll get spelling errors as well if you’re writing in English other than USA English for your usual posts. Grammarly can sort those out for you. It’s an indispensable tool that I use every day, and argue with every day as well. You might not have to argue with it. Regards, |
