That’s an odd way to start a post about email, but it’s relevant as you’ll soon see. There are two main reasons people don’t start am email list even though they want to make money online and they know that “the money is in the list”. Actually, it’s not in the list as such. It was once, about 20 years ago, but not now. Now the money in in the engagement you have with your list. And that brings us to the title of this post because that’s the key to getting your new subscribers engaged with you. What do you say after they say “Hello”? So, you’ve had someone subscribe to your list to get your freebie or perhaps a $1 trial for 14 days or something. The first thing they should get is a welcome email that gives them what they’ve signed up for. It should also introduce you to them, a bit. Most people know that much, and stumble over what comes next. What comes next should be a 6 or more email sequence that gives them a bit more about you and offers something relevant to the freebie. This could be tips on how to best use it, different case studies, something else to help, but nothing for sale before email 3, and even then it’s not a hard sell. Now I suggest you don’t use these emails as a copy paste exercise. You’ll get a better result when you go through them and tidy them up. I’d even put them through Grammarly to correct grammatical and spelling mistakes, yes AI does make those mistakes.
