Most of you will know about Boston Dynamics and their robot dogs and bi-pedal robots. The development of these things is amazing and they’re developing rapidly. But these are just robots with limited abilities outside of their programming. However, there’s a new player in the market who has been developing self-navigating capabilities into their AI controlled robots. .
They’re using the same technology that is built into self-driving cars and utilising the vast database of real-world scenarios to train the AI in recognising the things is sees. The projection is that you’ll be able to buy one of these for help around the home or anywhere you might want one, as long as you can pay the price, which hasn’t been announced yet but won’t be cheap. TBH, I’m not sure if this is good or bad yet. The potential is there to go either way. It will probably come down to what hard-coded principles the robots have. Just like Robert Heinlein proposed in his books. I’m really interested in what you think about this. Please email me with your thoughts. Regards, P.S. In the mean time I’ll keep working with the AI tools because they can make a difference in what we do. In the short term we can make great tools like this, DMARC Analyser, which I’ve now turned into a WordPress plugin, also with the help of AI. There are a few things I need to put in place in the background before a release, but that’s coming soon. |
