…is always the start, but sometimes you don’t know what the journey will be even when you know what the end point should be. I was reminded of this recently when there was significant roadworks that interrupted the traffic flow, slowed it down and redirected it. Yes, we still got where we were going. Yes, it did take longer. Yes, we had no idea that there were roadworks on our proposed path. On a previous trip we had diversions on the diversions before we got back to the main road. Life is like that, not just road trips. We often start out on a journey with no end in sight. We might think we know where we’re going and discover that this doesn’t work out like that. I wanted to be in a happy committed relationship. I’m in my second marriage. So far, it’s going pretty well, after 20+ years. The first one was struggling after the first 5 years, but I had hopes that things would improve. They didn’t. Sometimes you just have to call it quits and stop pushing the envelope any further. The end point didn’t change, the means to get there did. Anyway, the point is that no matter what we think will happen, sometimes things don’t work out. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t start the journey. Have an idea of where you want to end up and take that first step. Then keep travelling in the direction you want to go, take the diversions as necessary, but don’t forget the destination. Regards, P.S.
