If you struggle with coming up with something to write your email about, but you know you should write one, what do you do? I read my emails or Facebook posts to get some inspiration. Sometimes that works, but not always. I also grab quotes or ideas from the books I’m reading, and occasionally, I’ll get an idea from a conversation I’ve had. But the easiest email to write is a list based email. I rarely do this because I can usually come up with something. If I were to start this email again and present it as a list, it might look like this. What to do when you’re struggling with email content:
I’m sure you get the idea. Lists are pretty easy to put together, and they are essentially brainstorming. An email like that shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to put together. Incidentally, the items in the above list could almost all be written as a story email. The biggest secret to writing emails isn’t on that list. The secret is that you get better at writing emails the more of them you write. You get better at finding content for your emails the more of them you write. Even if you have an audience of one, and they don’t open all your emails, it’s still worth the effort. Get started with a landing page and a seven-day email sequence. Set one up here over the next few days; it’ll be worthwhile. Regards, |
