Some spam complaints come from people who forgot they signed up. Some come from people who are too lazy to scroll to the unsubscribe link. 99% are not legitimate complaints, they’re just wanting to get off your list. I have no problem with people deciding they don’t want to read my drivel any more. Sometimes I don’t want to read it either when I go back and look at it. Today I was notified of a spam complaint that was made 7 1/2 hours after supposedly signing up. I suggest that the complaint came because someone either made a typo and it was not their email address or it was done deliberately to annoy a third party. I find both of those scenarios unlikely because the list they were on requires confirmation. This means that I’m confused by the complaint, but I won’t give it any more head-space because I will never know any details. Anyway, all that to let you know that unsubscribes and spam complaints are part and parcel of emailing regularly. Delete them from your list and move on. Regards, P.S. You will never eliminate complaints or unsubscribes from your email list, but you should drive visitors to your landing pages every day to keep building your list. If you don’t it will gradually shrink to nothing as will your income. Follow this method to build your list the right way. |
