I’ve completed writing the program I’ve been working on and looked at the cost of buying a license. The license is required to make the program saleable, it’s free to develop the program, but it cannot be distributed in that format. The cost is too great for a single year, and I don’t get everything I want with a simple payment. The cost is $399 USD which translates to nearly $600 AUD. I would need two licences to do what I want, and I’m not prepared to pay that much per year. So, the search for a new tool begins again. Sometimes you’ll come across the same dilemma. Do you buy the tool or search for a different one? Not all tools are created equal, so you must assess each one carefully. Each tool has limitations and quirks. You need to determine if you can live with or work around those limitations and quirks. Sometimes a free tool will do the job fine, and sometimes you’ll need to pay a fee. Paying a subscription is usually the best unless you can get a special offer on a popular tool. Even paying a subscription, which is supposed to keep the developers financially incentivised to keep their software current, doesn’t always work out. You may remember the Vidnami debacle. GoDaddy bought them out and then closed the software down without a replacement. Web hosts shut down despite monthly income. Google regularly shuts down platforms and tools that have been running for years. Choose your tools carefully and keep your backups current. Regards, P.S. Whenever I change tools, there is always a learning curve until I feel proficient in using them. Too many people pick up a new tool or training and never complete it. I include myself in that group as well. It’s easy to get distracted and not get back to what you were doing. I suspect a significant part of that is the flood of information we are bombarded with daily. Computers and the Internet were supposed to make our lives easier. Instead, they have made our lives more disjointed and polarised. It’s hard to focus on the task at hand. That’s why this training is excellent. You don’t get the next module until you complete the previous one. Staying on track doesn’t take much time, and it’s easy. Check it out https://go.wm-tips.com/reviews. |
