Knowledge is not skill. You don’t have any idea of the truth of any knowledge until you try to implement it. All skills are knowledge plus practise. This means that you can develop any skill by learning and practising your new knowledge. As a marketer, you’ll need to develop skills around writing and persuasion. The knowledge is relatively easy to gain via YouTube and other websites, but it’s the practise that slows people down. What can you do to develop the skills you need? One way is to write something every day and post it online. If you are working on your persuasion skills, writing classified ads to sell surplus stuff from home gets you started. The next step would be to become an affiliate for a product you use and write reviews for that product. Reviews are pre-selling products so that when your reader clicks through, they are warmed up for the sales page to do its job. Once you are managing to develop some commissions from your reviews, you can create a product and work on selling that. Your first product might be about how to write reviews that sell products with your case study of how you do it. At this stage in your marketing development, the Internet is your oyster. Scale to suit the income level you are comfortable with. Regards, P.S. When you are getting started down this path, it can be beneficial to get an experienced person to review your early work and guide you on how to do it better. One person who can help you write better reviews is my friend Britt. She has helped me with this process and continues to help me in other ways. I have found her guidance invaluable, as I’m sure you will. This is where you apply for help. |
