It’s true. Apollo 11 took 4 days to get to the Moon. It took 6 days of driving for me to get to Cairns. Mind you, they were going a lot faster than me and they were travelling 24 hours each day. Their trip cost a lot more money in fuel and their vehicle cost a heck of a lot more than mine. But, if they had a breakdown they couldn’t call for space service like I could call for road service. Overall, I’d rather be me on my trip than them on their trip. Still, I found it interesting that it took so little time to get there. I hadn’t really thought about it, but if I had I suspect I might have guessed a longer travel time than that. As an aside, we visited the Parkes Radio Telescope on this trip which was the one that helped keep contact with that space flight. You can watch a slightly embellished story about that in the movie “The Dish”. Some things take longer than you’d expect and others take much less time than you’d expect. Regards, P.S. In a rather cheesy segue building an email list can be like this too. You can build an email list very fast, but often those lists are not worth a busted space helmet. Building a valuable list will take longer, but it will keep you in income for many years. Learn the secrets here: https://go.wm-tips.com/sr-list. |
