Not just when I hit the ground but also in the hospital. My riding buddy’s wife is in the Griffith Rehabilitation Hospital, where I spent several weeks recovering. She mentioned my name to the staff, and they remembered me. With the hundreds of patients they have, I must have made an impact. We’re going to visit her tomorrow. She fell, or was thrown, from her horse. I pushed her husband to get her into Griffith because I know how good they are. I know that what they did for me, they can do for her and get her back on her feet as efficiently as possible. It doesn’t matter where you are now or what’s happened to you in the past. None of that can be altered; it’s done, and the results are visible to you today. The only thing you can change is the future. Starting tomorrow, you can change your future for better or worse, and you’ll do it in increments. Tiny little steps taken tomorrow and repeated will compound to give you the future you’ve worked towards. Starting tomorrow. Every day is a fork in the road to the future. Every day, you have the chance to do what will improve your life or ignore it and degrade it. What time to get out of bed, what you eat, what you drink, how much exercise you have, what you spend your free time doing, who you hang out with, what books you read, what websites you spend time on, etc. I’m sure you get the idea that every seemingly minor decision has an impact. So, that being the case, why have I mentioned “starting tomorrow” twice? Because today is the day you stand at the fork in the road and decide where you want your future to be. Then, you can begin making those tiny decisions to head towards the future you want. This is not goal setting. This is activity setting. It’s much easier to keep track of.
