Some people will tell you that the answer is segmentation. Ramit Sethi says that’s a load of codswallop. Daniel Throssell agrees with him after testing with his email subscribers. Tony Shepherd has been doing it successfully for years. Funnily enough I have been doing the same thing for years as well. The issue is that even within a niche, there are people with varied interests. For example, in internet marketing there are those who focus on funnels, others on landing pages, still others on email lists, etc. In the weight market, a sub-set of the health market, some focus on diets, others on exercise, etc. How do you keep those who are not interested in all aspects of a niche engaged with your emails when you have so much to cover? You write emails like Ramit, Daniel, Tony, etc. You write emails that entertain rather than focus on the niche. Sometimes, you can bend the entertainment to land on a product, sometimes not. That’s what a PS is for. Everyone who opens your email will know that you are going to offer them something at the end, but they accept that for the entertainment. OK, back to the subject line. How do you learn how to write emails that entertain? You write emails every day and do the best you can. Then, every day, you try to make them better. Sometimes stories, sometimes value, sometimes humour. Mix it up, but keep trying to do better. Don’t put up with a blank page. Write something and then work on improving it. If you would like to have an email list like these people, you can when you follow the guide here: https://go.wm-tips.com/sr-list. Regards, |
