How do you define success? That concept varies across countries and cultures. The simplest definition of success, for me, is to have more money coming in that is going out, have a roof over my head, be warm and dry, have sufficient reasonable quality food, and have coffee. Well, perhaps the last one isn’t required, but it is a ‘nice to have’. Notice that there is no mention of the amount of money, the cost or size of the roof, etc. We all have the right to have the opportunity to strive for those things with a reasonable chance of obtaining them. In most Western democracies that is the case. That is not the case in many other countries. When I started my first business I said to my then wife (the 1st one) that the worst that could possibly happen in Australia is that we would end up living in a Trust home on unemployment benefits. Trust homes were owned by the Government and had a capped rental based on your income. It’s not being homeless with no income. So even in that supposedly destitute state we would still be better off than 90% of the rest of the world, and would be seen as successful by their standards. It’s hard not to take a risk when that’s the worst that could happen. And yet, many Australians complain that they are poor and the Government should do something to fix that. Usually they want to be paid more welfare which they’ll squander on things they don’t need instead of investing in themselves and the things they do need to reach the lifestyle they aspire to. I have no sympathy for them. I have been as close to bankrupt as I would ever like to be and I’m not now. Why? I changed what I did then and I still change what I’m doing now. Change is much easier when you know what and why the change is necessary. You know what you need to do to reach your goals. Are you doing them? If you are, congratulations, you will reach your goals. When you know you are going to hit those goals, set new ones or you might stagnate. If you’re not doing what you need to be doing perhaps you need some help. https://llclickpro.com/basuccess/em. Change is not hard, but it is necessary if you are not achieving what you want. Regards, |
