They just drift off. The rest of this email will probably get better. How much sleep do you need to stay healthy and alert? The ‘experts’ advice is that you need 8 hours a night. That is the average, and my forays into mathematics have taught me that when you have an average, there are always numbers above and below. For as long as I can remember bothering to think about it, I have slept between 6 and 7 hours a night. Even now, when I don’t set an alarm clock or have to go into an office, it’s still the same. I don’t have naps during the day, so clearly, I’m not tired. I know others who struggle with the day if they don’t get 8 hours or more. What about you? Do you sleep the average? More or less? The only way to know for sure what the correct amount is for you is to be able to go for a month or two sleeping as much or as little as you need. No alarm clock to disrupt your sleep. However, once you know how much you need, you can plan to stay as sharp as you need every day. Regards, P.S. The only way to progress with your dreams and goals is to understand where you are now.
