While some domain authority does appear to have an effect on page ranking, the content and links to a page are more important. As far as I can see the main benefit from having good domain authority is getting a new page indexed faster. Pages get indexed fast when the Googlebot finds them fast. When the Googlebot is on your site multiple times a day your new pages will get indexed rapidly. You can use this to your advantage. The Googlebot looks for changes to already indexed pages and links to new pages. You can edit existing pages, slightly, and link to a new site which could be on a sub-domain or a new domain. Not all sub-domains need to be in the same niche as the main domain because Google sees them as independent sites. There are many platforms that have sub-domains that are completely independent sites. WordPress.com has millions of subdomains, Blogger has millions of sub-domains, Google sites has millions of sub-domains, etc. There are many more, which means that you can have multiple sites on any or all of those platforms. You can also have multiple sub-domain sites on your own domains for the same reasons. The other advantage of sub-domains is that you can often get your keywords into the URL, which gives you a small boost in your ranking. This is how you build a Mini-Net that works to collect visitors from a wide area and funnel them to your main pages. With a little luck the two books I’m basing 2025’s work on will be in the members area here , well there will be a link at least as I’m not sure I can upload a PDF to Substack. Regards, |
