We had three grandies with us today. The usual 2-year-old plus two cousins due to a Student Free Day at their school. As is normal, I was doing some simple things on my computer because thinking isn’t an option when there are three little girls running around. However, the eldest one is a budding author, at 10. She’s already shown me books she’s written, and she loves reading. Reading is great training for writing.
The two older girls were sitting on the arms of my chair and providing prompts for ChatGPT to make images from. I told them to come up with an image prompt and I’d get a T-Shirt made for them. We have two T-Shirts coming. The 10-year-old then spotted me checking the stats on my Amazon books, and asked if she could put some books up. Now she knows what she needs to do to get started, and I’ve promised to help. She may be the first person at her school to be a published author. If a 10-year-old can see the potential of self-publishing and is prepared to slowly type out the story she’s hand written, do you think you could? Admittedly, she’s not thinking of money, just getting a book published. For your first one that’s probably the right goal. Get something done. Regards, P.S. The book is approved.
