I’ve talked recently about setting up a website or blog targeting very low competition keywords. Keywords that people are searching for today, not historically low competition keywords. As I said then, you can rank for these keywords easily because no serious player is targeting them. Some people think that this is a waste of time because you’ll need to post quite a few pages to get decent traffic, except that’s not true. You promote these pages on high traffic sites such as Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, et al. As the traffic from these sites grows, your ranking also grows and you’ll start ranking for keywords you’re not targeting. All of that brings people to your door. Now what do you do with them? You run links in your posts, you post ads in the sidebar and between paragraphs. You’ve seen sites that do that. Some of them are so ad heavy it’s hard to find the text. Don’t go that nuts, but definitely place ads on your pages. Some of those ads go to bridge pages for products, some go direct to sales pages. All of these links open in a new page because you want to keep the visitor on your site and keep them clicking. Sure, the CTR will be lower than highly targeted pages, but the volume of clicks make it worth while. Finding the keywords, creating the posts, and posting them doesn’t have to take hours.
