Building a blog can be time consuming. All that research into keywords, writing engaging content, finding images, tweaking the content for SEO and your visitors, etc. But, when you get it rolling the traffic can pay for your lifestyle. Except… …you have to find that fresh content every day and it’s time-consuming. Ready to discover an easier way? Content that Google has already identified as quality and is fresh today and every day? This is an old method that still works but is being ignored in favour of AI scraping the web. Google alerts. Give Google the niche you’re interested in, your email address (I use a gmail account for this) and how often you want alerts. One a day is usually sufficient. Check your email daily, click through to an interesting website, leave it open in one tab, copy paste snippets and comment on them on your blog, comment on the website in question about your post and drop a link to your page in the comment. Do not use AI for your comment on their page, but you can use it for everything else. How does this help you? You might start a dialogue with the website owner, if they approve your comment you’ll get a link back to your blog that the GoogleBot will follow and index your page. You’ll get visitors from that website when they read your comment and click on the link. You may even rank that page within hours. I’ve even had the Google Alerts pop up my page in their next email. I suggest that you don’t only write content this way and I have put those curated content pages in a News category. But, it’s your blog so you can do this anyway you like. Regards, P.S. If you don’t want to spend money on hosting a blog and you’re interested in experimenting with this method there are free sites everywhere. Blogger.com is Google’s own free platform. Then there is Systeme which has more tools built-in than those two. If you do a search you’ll find plenty more. |
