…for ‘suspicious activity’ whatever that means. I only use this account when I’m selling stuff on Marketplace and I haven’t used it for most of this year. They closed it in July. Perhaps the ‘suspicious activity’ was that it had no activity? I found out about that today when I tried to login. Here’s the process to regain your account. Firstly, you have to give them an email address, not the one associated with your account. WTF? Then you have to provide them with an image of a photo ID. Once they’ve accepted that they tell you it could take up to 24 hours to process. OK, so I wandered off to do other things. A little later I was back checking my emails from something else I was doing when I spotted an email from FB telling me that my account would be restored if I clicked the link in the email by 4:16 pm. It was then 4:20 pm. I tried the link but it had expired. FFS!. Who, in their right mind, sets a short time to click a link when the email could be sent any time up to 24 hours? Only a moronical FB programmer would come up with such a ridiculous thing. I’ll have to have another go at that but I will also have to monitor my email account while I wait. Sheesh, these drop kicks tick me off. The upside is that I get email fodder. I’d rather tell you about some other World day, but not today. Regards, P.S. There is another lesson to be learned here. FaceBook uses email extensively. All their communication with their users is via email. You rarely see anything other than blanket promotional broadcasts in your FB timeline. If you don’t have an email list or it’s not progressing as you would like then go here: https://go.wm-tips.com/sr-list. If email is good enough for Fb, it’s good enough for you. |
