If you’ve been getting my emails for a while you’ll know that I find it amusing and annoying when people say, “He’s/she’s making history.”
Every second that’s passed is historical, mostly uninteresting, but historical none-the-less.
It is important to record history as accurately as possible from as many sides as possible, but that’s not what is happening.
Some groups want to rewrite history to suit their slant.
Now I don’t have any objection to them writing their version of historical events, but rewriting it is wrong .
It’s just as wrong as there only being one version in the first place, but no single group has all the facts or the only truth.
I was going through some old blog posts in the last couple of days and discovered that most of the newspaper articles I linked to no longer exist .
People have been using newspapers for as long as there’ve been newspapers to research past events.
Removing them from the records is wrong.
I suppose that the problem is storage, but there should be a repository somewhere that the original URL redirects to.
If it’s not possible to check a reference then no statement can be proved or disproved no matter how one sided that statement could be.
I find the loss of those historical documents disturbing .

My favourite AI video creation tool is improving fast.
Invideo is no longer the simple tool it was when I started using it.
I had worked out how to get it to create a video from my script, but now that’s a built-in function .
You can add images and music or let the AI choose.
Mostly I let it choose because it’s pretty good at that.
You can edit text or images after the video has been created and then generate it again to fine tune the result.
The flexibility is impressive and the output is good to great.
Hey, it’s still AI so it doesn’t always get things right, but you can always make the adjustments you need.
I’ve currently getting it to make a video about How to build a profitable blog in 2025 that I’ll put a link to when it’s done, in about 5 minutes.

OK, normally I’d edit this a bit because some of the word and sentence spacing is a little off, but you get the raw video .

The other thing about this video is that I only gave it the subject, the AI wrote the script, created the title, chose the images, chose the music and put it all together in less than ten minutes .
I think it’s impressive and will keep getting better.

I read a lot.
I have ever since I discovered Robert Heinlein .
There are always one or more things in them that are currently impossible.
Faster-than-light travel is one that must be included or the stories just won’t work.
If you can’t travel faster than light then you have to be able to use wormholes to get places faster.
Then there are really smart AIs to run ships, countries, planets, civilisations, etc.
Weapons are crucially important as is armour.
Sometimes the armour will stop kinetic projectiles (bullets) but not lasers, and sometimes it’s the other way around.
It all depends on whether the armour has a personal force field or not.
Another essential tool is the use of nano-bots to promote rapid healing of injuries that don’t result in instant death.
What amuses me in all of this, and more, is the complete disregard for physics and mathematics as we understand them today.
The authors usually treat laser weapons as if they have enough mass to affect people or ships.
Hollywood has a lot to answer for.

Then it’s a matter of practice to discover what results you get.

January 19, 2013 is when Lance Armstrong finally admitted doping in all 7 of his Tour de France victories.
Severely damaging the credibility of le Tour as well as destroying his legacy.
He’d even sued people during that period who called him a drug cheat, and won.
I wonder if he paid back the money he fraudlently took from them?
What I find curious is that taking drugs to win sporting events is called cheating and frowned upon, but calling yourself a woman and competing against women to win sporting events is somehow not cheating.
I have two possible solutions to this current crop of cheats.
The first is to have a Trans only competition.
The second is that all Trans athletes must have had full reassignment surgery plus a minimum of 12 months Oestrogen therapy and no training during that period before they’re allowed to compete against women.
I suspect that the bulk of Trans athletes will not want to go through that regime.
Their agenda is not to become women, but to win sporting events.
I might be wrong, what do you think?

The Google keyword tool has become less and less useful.

Google used to have a tool called The Wonder Wheel that was freakishly good, so they stopped it.
But they have a tool that almost nobody pays attention to that is at least as good.

You can follow along with any Google search to get an idea though.
Start with any keyword.
That’s tier 1
The PAA section will show you 4 keywords that others have searched for.
That’s tier 2
Click any of those and you’ll get another 2 keywords for each of the original ones you click.
That’s tier 3
Click the same one again and you’ll get another 2 for tier 3.
If you layer these into a mind map you’ll see the Wonder Wheel appear as you delve deeper into the keywords.
What Google is telling you is that these are all relevant to the original search.
When you structure your blog so your keyword focused content links in the same structure as the PAA keywords you’ll get a lot of Google love.
Many of those keywords have almost no competition so you’ll rank easily and get lots of traffic.
Don’t be fooled by any keywords that some tool suggests have no searches because that’s not true or Google wouldn’t tell you they had.
You can do this manually using Keywords Everywhere, but it’s so much easier and faster with the Insight Analyser tool.

That subject line is a call from people who want to sell you the latest way to make money online with some odd proposal.
Usually involving a big platform like Facebook, Pinterest, etc.
They often also are promoting affiliate marketing and driving the traffic from those platforms to your bridge page .
Don’t tell them, but a bridge page is a single page blog .
Hmmm…
Blogging isn’t dead yet, and probably never will be.
It is evolving though.
A solely text based blog may struggle to get visitors because it may struggle to get any ranking.
That does not mean that you can’t get good traffic to your blog pages.
It may mean that you need to find the visitors on other platforms and link them to your blog.
One thing that you really must be doing is building an email list from your visitors and then email them every time you post something new.
Then choose one platform to collect your visitors from.
Each post gets repurposed as content on the platform you’ve chosen so people there can click through to your blog.
How often do you create new content?
2 – 3 times a week is usually enough depending on the platform as long as you’re consistent.
That’s the key though, consistency .
If you wish to go down the video path post the video on the post the video is created from for bonus points.
Anyway, that’s the simplistic way to get started blogging successfully in 2025.
